i was suffering from Necrotising Pancreatitis with Gastro Pancreatic Fistula in the month of May-2018. I contacted my family Doctor & he refered Dr.Saurabh Misra who is having his clinic at BTM Layout, Bangalore. In Sep 2017 I had severe abdominal pain caused by a gallstones popping out and blocking the bile duct, the one shared with pancreas. This triggered a bout with acute pancreatitis with varying degree of pains. In early week of Oct I was referred to Dr Misra by one of my friends and this advice turned out to be a life saving one.
Due to the inflammation of the pancreas Dr Misra recommended to use NJ tube feeding. This helped to reduce inflammation but didn’t resulted in complete cure. In the last week of Oct I underwent another procedure to successfully remove the stone from the bile duct. After that Dr Misra operated me to remove the gallbladder and dead parts of pancreas which were infected.
Following the operation Dr Misra continued the feeding using NJ tube & irrigation of abdomen to remove any left-over bad pancreas. This continued for a month after which I was discharged with the fitsula tube still attached. After 3 months the drainage from fistula reached to zero which indicated recovery of the pancreas.
Dr Misra’s commitment & sheer excellence is second to none. He is very approachable & responds to each & every query.

Well, it was my Mom who is all healthy after being treated by Dr. Saurabh Misra under uplanned and accidental circumstances, Thank God!!. Complaints of severe abdominal pain.Sufferings of my mom where abrupt and severe that is when a local physician referred us to Dr. Saurabh and we took her to him. The Symptoms shown by mom were strange and weird.Test and medical reports failed to give the clear picture of whats happening inside her. Why she was in so much pain. I was overweight from couple of years . Tried lot of things but finally no result. At last met Dr Saurabh Misra consulted regarding by problems and suggested for mini gastric bypass. For overweight I was suffering from varicose vein. Lots of ulcers came and gone but not permanent kind of . After consultation decided for operation. It’s a heartfelt gratitude that I want to express to him as he saved the life of Preety, my wife. Though I did not know Dr. Misra earlier and went straight to him on March 5th 2016 based on my own fact finding but somehow had the confidence that he is a doctor who could properly cure her.

Dr Mishra did a marvel in laparoscopic surgery on 22nd march, 2016 at Apollo Hospital, Banerghetta, Bangalore and successfully performed cholecystectomy of a shrunken gallbladder and removal of around 20 mm stone in the common bile duct through Laparoscopic surgery followed by Choledochoscopy, all in a surgical marathon for 6 hours. He fragmented the large stone which was heavily impacted in the narrow end of the CBD. The pre-surgical complications were that twice the ERCP (endoscopic procedure for removal of stone) had failed, first at Apollo on 8th march and then at Manipal on 18th march where it was done with highly sophisticated laser lithotripsy with spy glass technique. Even Manipal”s Gastroenterologist expressed surprise and said he did an unbelievable feat. Though there was very high probability for open surgery and the same had been planned also but thanks to Dr. Mishra that he did all these through laparoscopy and made her recover faster and with lesser pain.

His care, meticulousness in diagnosis, cautious guidance and empathetic attention to patient, his listening skills and unassuming calm on face are some of the rare qualities of Dr Misra which are actually towards extinction in today’s time of medical commercialization.

I must really compliment for his laser sharp responsiveness, he has always responded to me in less than 30 seconds every single time (when he was not in OT) whenever I have called him or sent a sms. This means a lot to the patient and his family and is a true example of concern and care. He is so caring that he always appeared as if he is someone from the patient’s family. He was more prompt and careful than his team of supporting doctors and he would not mind showing his displeasure to anyone who is not serious with the issues of patient.

I really thank you Doctor from the core of my heart and feel indebted for life for all that you did for Preety. You indeed are a God’s gift to the medical community and you bring a new lease of life in the life of patients. May the God give you his special blessings to you.
